Clinical Therapist Needed in Collin County

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Salience Health has an exciting opportunity for full time Clinical Therapist in the fast growing and diverse area of Dallas/Fort Worth. You would be joining a collaborative multi-specialty team that includes Psychiatrists, Neurologist, Primary Care, Nurse Practitioners, and Counselors that are all supported by well- trained medical assistants and an administrative team.

As part of a comprehensive behavioral health team, the Clinical Therapist will fulfill multiple roles as therapy provider and crisis clinician.  As a crisis clinician, the Clinical Therapist will offer support, education, crisis services in conjunction with our psychiatric providers, and referrals to appropriate resources as needed for the patients.  As a therapy provider, the Clinical Therapist will facilitate psychoeducational classes and individual sessions, using an evidence-based approach.  At Salience Health, we all have one common mission and that is to relentlessly pursue remission and recovery together one patient at a time.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Completes documentation as required by agency policy
  • Documentation reflects assessment of patient’s behaviors and feelings
  • Establishes rapport with patient
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct for Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor practice.
  • Coordinates with the treatment team, family/patient, implements appropriate referrals/discharge planning
  • Maintains ongoing communication with treatment team
  • Attends weekly meetings
  • Interacts therapeutically with patients and families
  • Maintains objectivity and does not discuss personal affairs with patients or families.
  • Reacts therapeutically in crisis situations
  • Consistently demonstrates an alert sensitive and supportive attitude with patients, families, coworkers, providers, and management.
  • Knows and can explain group rules and regulations
  • Acts as the patient advocate ensuring that the patient’s rights as well as confidentiality are maintained
  • Demonstrates understanding of common psychiatric diagnoses and can recognize behaviors associated with and use proper intervention techniques
  • Demonstrates willingness to cooperate with others and adheres to the culture of the agency
  • Can be relied upon to be at work as scheduled and is rarely absent from work
  • Reports to work on time
  • Provides proper notification and advance notice for absence and tardiness
  • Reports/checks out before leaving agency

  • Meets with clinical director monthly or as assigned
  • Provides crisis services to Salience patients including but not limited to: assessments, crisis plan, or coping plan and referrals to higher level of care
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Therapy Operations and/or Chief Medical Officer.
  • Will conduct 3 CBT classes per week and a minimum of 10 individual CBT sessions per week, along with crisis duties.

  • Demonstrate the ability to engage clients, families, staff and providers in appropriate clinical relationships
  • Must demonstrate ability to provide hopeful, supportive and effective assessment, ability to engage individuals quickly to provide brief and effective assessments. Must demonstrate knowledge of techniques to manage symptoms of mental illness, addiction and relapse prevention.
  • Must be able to work within a team setting and be able to work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills and technological applications.
  • Must be able to navigate efficiently Electronic Medical Records.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC
  • Education: graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in clinical services such as Social Work, Psychology or Counseling.
  • Experience: Prefer 3 years of work experience or equivalent.
