CNS Testing
What is CNS Testing?
CNS stands for Computerized Neurocognitive Screening. It is an overall indication of how you may perform in your daily life when presented with a task. It measures functions such as your reaction time, your memory, and your attention.
Testing is conducted via laptop in the office or remotely on your device at home and is administered by a trained member of our team. This test will be scheduled as it may require prior authorization.
The assessment is completely non-invasive and consists of a compilation of short tests where you are measured on your ability to read, follow directions, and complete the presented tasks. The tasks vary between remembering words and shapes, sorting objects, and basic logic puzzles.
The entire process takes around 45 minutes and is generally covered by your insurance with cash pricing available.

Scheduling & Additional Information
Once we have verified your benefits and out-of-pocket costs, one of our Patient Liaisons will call you to set up your appointment and answer any questions you may have. We can schedule this assessment in office or over tele-health. Payment can be made when scheduling your appointment or on the day of your testing.
Day of Testing
For the day of the test, we ask that you do not take any stimulants beforehand. All other prescription medication can be taken as regularly scheduled. Please set aside at least one hour for the assessment in a remote and quiet area free of distractions. You will need a laptop or desktop computer with internet access and the technician will call you at the time of your appointment. They will go over all necessary information while ensuring you are comfortable and able to complete the test.
The Assessment Itself
The assessment consists of a compilation of short tests and puzzles. When you are done, the technician will check to ensure that it was fully completed and could potentially be asked to retake certain portions of the exam. From there, the technician can lead you to our Patient Experience Advocates to schedule your follow up appointment which is when you will review the results with your provider.
