Melissa Do, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant
Legacy West Office
I am committed to serving and educating my patients about treatment options to create a robust and personalized care plan that meets their goals/visions for their mental health.
One of the most dedicated psychiatric providers in Plano
Melissa first began her career in insurance after graduating from UT Austin, but soon after realized that she wanted to serve in a more community-based, altruistic role. She transitioned to education and spent 5 years teaching math and science at the high school level. It was through this experience that she saw that her students' healthcare needs had to be addressed before taking on personal and educational goals.
Melissa finished up academic prerequisites and was then accepted to UAB. After clinical rotations (including Inpatient Psychiatry) and graduating from UAB, she returned to the great state of Texas and began practicing in the outpatient mental health setting in June 2020.
Melissa's care philosophy is to serve as a guide for her patients, presenting with them with evidence-based care options combined with clinical expertise, so that they may make educated choices for their own mental health and wellness. She is excited about Salience's care model because she loves to serve on a team and believes in providing comprehensive and coordinated care for our patients.
When she is not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, snuggling with her dogs, reading, listening to podcasts, cooking, and going to concerts.
