Clinical Therapist-Director

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: 

Salience Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Director of Therapy Services to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health and crisis intervention, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As the Director of Therapy Services, you will work collaboratively with clients to develop effective treatment plans and support their mental health needs in a clinical setting.

Through a continuous Treatment Team approach, the Director of Therapy Services works closely with the Intake/Crisis Coordinator Team Lead, Therapy Service Coordinators, Group Therapists, Intake/Crisis Coordinators, and Assessment Coordinators to provide evidence-based clinical services and treatment to the patients at Salience Health and Salience TMS.

The Director will provide new employees with education about the various services provided by Salience Health and Salience TMS Neuro Solutions. The Director will also oversee and direct the performance of the initial assessment, completion of designated assessments tools, assess for clinical risk, facilitate crisis planning and completion of the clinical snapshot completed by The Intake/Crisis Coordinators.

The Director will offer support, education, crisis planning guidance, and supervision of appropriate resources for the Therapy Service Department. The Director will foster an environment of hope and support employing a team approach and portraying a belief in the recovery potential of clients served. The Director will ensure services are provided at clinic locations and will follow all Salience Health and Salience TMS policies and procedures, and exercise good judgment and initiative in keeping with the varied and ever-changing needs of the patients and the clinics.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

  • Complete annual performance review of all department employees.
  • Refer patients as needed to other providers, agencies, groups, or specialists as needed.
  • Case Management of all patients under the care of TS- directly or indirectly as needed.
  • Initiate and attend marketing efforts as needed for Therapy Services Department.
  • Discharge planning and/or termination of patients when needing a HLOC or various other community resources.
  • Review encounters of LMSW/LPC/LMSW billed under the licensure of Director and send to Billing Department within 72 hours of time noted.
  • Facilitate/Create group therapy or psycho-educational classes for patients with variety of mental illnesses as determined by the needs of the patients in our care.
  • Create materials, handouts, workbooks, or visual aids for groups and Psycho-educational classes.
  • Assist facilitators with preparation of group with materials, handouts, workbooks, or visual aids as needed.
  • Maintain management presence at each location.
  • Coordinate care with other medical providers as needed for patients in their care.
  • Communicate to appropriate departments of any New Hires or terminations, need for building entry.
  • Discuss concerns of patients dissatisfied with patient care received at our clinics.
  • Provide communication to patients and employees as needed regarding office policy and department updates, inclimate weather changes, etc.
  • Maintain current State licensure requirements per clinical guidelines, renewal/CEUs and core competencies.
  • Lead or Co-Lead weekly meetings with Therapy Services team.
  • Comply with professional guidelines of the company as well as the Department of Therapy Services.
  • Meet with patients on individual basis for short term stabilization and treatment goals.
  • Order department supplies to include administrative needs of team as well as psycho- educational materials.
  • Work with Billing Department to improve collections processes, management of communication for patients with delinquent payments, reduced rates, department billing cycles.
  • Work with Credentialing Department for all clinical new hires for eligibility with insurance panels and professional liability.
  • Provide on-going support to all members of Therapy Services, case consultation, management, operational decisions of groups/classes.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned by CMO or Designee.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence of acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct for Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor practice.
  • Attends weekly provider meetings for both clinic locations.
  • Interacts therapeutically with patients and families.
  • Maintains objectivity and does not discuss personal affairs with patients or families.
  • Reacts therapeutically in crisis situations with patients as well as though being trained for crisis intervention.
  • Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive, and supportive attitude with patients, families, coworkers, providers, and management.
  • Knows and can explain group rules and regulations and their etiology to patients as well as clinicians on the team.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Exhibits a thorough job knowledge and understanding of services, facility rules, and applicable regulations.
  • Exhibits knowledge of Research and qualifications for participation, as applicable.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to continually remain abreast of current and new treatment modalities as well as training from Smart leadership or designee.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage clients, families, staff, and providers in appropriate clinical relationships.
  • Must be able to work within a team setting and be able to work cooperatively with other team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters degree in Clinical Services such as Social Work, Psychology or Counseling.
  • Experience: Prefer 5 years of work experience with 3 years management experience or equivalent.
  • License/Certification: Current license from the state of Texas; Licensure: LCSW, LCSW-S, LPC, LPC-S, PhD
