Sara began her nursing career at the age of 17 working in a long-term care, which is how she became passionate about caring for older patients with neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer’s disease. After a couple of years, she received a promotion to Assistant Director of Nursing and then Director of Nursing. She was responsible for managing and overseeing all areas within the nursing department. Her primary focus was on promoting patient-specific care with an emphasis on improving patient outcomes. She then moved on to work in the acute hospital setting, where she specialized in trauma and orthopedic care. During this time, she cared for patients with co-occurring psychiatric illnesses. Sara identified a need for providers with specialized training in diagnosing and treating psychiatric diseases. Sara is passionate about delivering patient-specific care and working with her patients to improve symptoms and quality of life. She takes an individualized approach to care, emphasizing the importance of interventions that are not limited to medication management.
