Laura Macke

Laura Macke, PA-C, is a dedicated and compassionate provider who believes that empathy is the cornerstone of effective patient care. At Salience Health’s Legacy location, Laura approaches each patient encounter with the same empathy and curiosity she would expect from her own healthcare experience. She believes that, while she may not have lived through the exact circumstances her patients face, their emotions are universal, allowing her to connect with them on a deeply human level. This commitment to understanding the individual behind each diagnosis helps create a trusting and supportive relationship with our patients.

With experience volunteering for the Crisis Text Line, Laura has been trained in crisis intervention and suicide prevention—skills that have honed her ability to provide calm, clear, and compassionate care during even the most difficult moments in a patient’s mental health journey. Her work in this field demonstrates her ability to respond with patience, empathy, and actionable support, qualities that are critical for patients navigating depression, anxiety, or ADHD.

Laura’s expertise in managing complex mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and ADHD, is complemented by her clinical knowledge and her ongoing commitment to staying up to date with the latest treatments and care approaches. Her research, published in Frontiers in Women’s Health, explores the intersection of mental health and physical conditions in middle-aged women, and she was the first author to be published on this topic by the journal. This research underlines her deep understanding of the interconnectedness of mental and physical health—an important focus at Salience Health, where comprehensive, whole-person care is key

Outside the clinic, Laura finds balance through her love of reading, playing video games, and engaging in the fun sport of pickleball. She’s also nurturing a creative side, learning to paint with watercolor. Laura’s drive for excellence was evident in her academic journey, graduating with honors from PA school—a testament to her commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to her patients.
