Dr. Maria Biard, M.D.

Maria Biard, MD, brings a compassionate, relationship-centered approach to primary care at Salience Health’s Legacy location. A native of Canada now serving the North Texas community for over 30 years, Dr. Biard believes exceptional healthcare begins with something simple but essential: taking the time to truly listen.

Her goal is to build lasting, positive, and trusting relationships with her patients. She views the patient and physician as a team, working together to understand concerns, make informed healthcare decisions, and move toward better overall well-being. For Dr. Biard, every patient is important, and she strives to care for each person with the same kindness, attention, and respect she would want for a member of her own family.

“Always be kind and listen” is a philosophy that guides both her life and her work. Dr. Biard believes everyone deserves to feel heard and understood, and that a physician cannot fully understand a patient’s needs without listening with care. She considers the whole person when providing care, recognizing the important connections among physical health, mental health, family, lifestyle, and overall quality of life.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Biard has a particular interest in caring for patients through different stages of life, including adolescents and older adults. Her experience also includes practicing in an underserved area of Canada, which strengthened her appreciation for accessible, individualized healthcare and the importance of developing meaningful relationships with the people and communities she serves.

Throughout her career, Dr. Biard has been recognized for her commitment to medicine and patient care. She served as Chief Resident and received an Outstanding Physician Award in 2022.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Biard looks forward to reconnecting with the figure skating community through teaching and judging. She and her family are avid wine collectors and enjoy cooking. She is also a passionate gardener and particularly enjoys growing vegetables and other plants from seed.

At Salience Health, Dr. Biard brings the relationship and continuity of primary care into an integrated healthcare setting by getting to know her patients and understanding both their physical and mental health needs. She works alongside them to make thoughtful decisions, address concerns, and build a stronger foundation for their long-term health.
