Dr. Crumpacker received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City before completing a residency in general psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas. He then completed a two-year fellowship in geriatric psychiatry, also at UT Southwestern. A diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and double board-certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry, Dr. Crumpacker served as the Assistant Chief of Psychiatry at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas from 2005 to 2009.
Dr. Crumpacker's research centers on risk factors associated with Alzheimer's disease and diagnosing and treating Pseudo Bulbar Affect. As a nationally sought-after lecturer on depression, Pseudo Bulbar Affect, and Alzheimer's disease, Dr. Crumpacker also publishes professionally and advocates for patients' rights. In addition, he has been recognized by both D Magazine and Texas Monthly as an outstanding physician.
