What Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is psychotherapy treatment that helps patients curb anxious or depressive episodes. CBT allows individuals to better understand that their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all linked together.
Each session is designed to help you to examine the attitudes that play a role in how you might interpret various situations. By the end of each course, you should be able to correct automatic negative thoughts that lead you to struggle with depression, anxiety, fear, or hopelessness.
Should I consider CBT?
CBT is an evidence-based form of treatment that can help improve mood states. Here are a few things you can learn through CBT:
- How to identify unrealistic, or irrational, thoughts and develop healthier thinking patterns
- Effective ways to overcome your symptoms that could be holding you back or preventing you from enjoying life to its fullest
- Skills that can be applied for a lifetime
- CBT can be delivered in different settings - both individual and group experiences.
- A full course of CBT can be as effective as two trials of medication!
- CBT is a time-limited therapy and patients can experience rapid benefits over the course of 3 months
- You will build new skills to help you more effectively cope with stress
