Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a painless way to help you improve your brain function and alleviate symptoms from a variety of disorders such as ADHD, TBI, anxiety, and depression. Neurofeedback is a form of brain training, similar to going to the gym. It teaches your brain healthier ways to function resulting in a decrease of symptoms.

You learn to alter your brain activity the same way you learn every other skill – through feedback and practice. You get instantaneous information about changes in your brain’s electrical activity as you work which helps to "hard-wire" and strengthen the connections in the brain.

How Can I Get Started?

Step 1@3x

Brainview Assessment

Completing a Brainview assessment is the first step in evaluating if neurofeedback is a good option for you and is also used to establish your personalized treatment protocol for neurofeedback. The Brainview assessment will be repeated after every 10 sessions of neurofeedback for the same purpose. To understand more about the Brainview assessment, please click here. To schedule a Brainview assessment, please reach out to your Care Navigator or our Patient Liaison team.

Step 2@3x

Start Neurofeedback Therapy

A typical treatment course consists of 2-3 sessions per week for a total of about 30 sessions. Each session is anywhere from 45-60 minutes.

How does Neurofeedback work?

Each patients protocol will be adjusted and unique to them. Using a qEEG your Neurofeedback treatment coordinator can see which brain activities are normal, low, or high compared to a healthy population.

From there, neurofeedback uses auditory and visual feedback to train the brain to alter its patterns. When you successfully move activity towards normal levels, the brain is rewarded with positive feedback.
