eVox Assessment

A Clearer Picture of Your Cognitive Health

At Salience Health, we understand the importance of monitoring your brain health. The eVox Assessment is an advanced, non-invasive tool that helps us assess your brain’s health in a single office visit. This test provides us with a clear picture of how well your brain processes information, helping detect early signs of cognitive issues like memory loss, slow thinking, and brain fog. Using cutting-edge EEG technology, eVox captures your brain’s electrical activity while you respond to simple tasks like visual or auditory cues.

Why is Cognitive Testing Important?

Early detection of brain changes is key to preventing or delaying conditions like dementia or cognitive decline. Research shows that brain changes can begin decades before symptoms appear. With the eVox Assessment, we can detect these changes early on, allowing us to tailor your treatment plan to protect your brain health.

Benefits of an eVox Assessment:

  • Early Detection: Uncover signs of cognitive decline before symptoms emerge.
  • Personalized Treatment: The insights gained help doctors create targeted treatment plans based on your unique brain activity.
  • Preventative Care: Catching cognitive changes early allows for timely interventions that can slow progression.
  • Mental Health Insight: It not only evaluates cognitive function but also helps assess aspects of your mental health.

What to Expect During the eVox Assessment

During the procedure, small sensors are gently placed on your scalp to record your brain’s activity as you complete tasks. These tasks measure how quickly and efficiently your brain processes information and help us assess your cognitive health and emotional well-being.

It’s completely painless and takes less than an hour to complete, making it an easy addition to your overall health check-up. After the scan, we provide a detailed report to help guide your treatment plan.

How To Prepare For Your Testing

Step 1@3x

eVox Education and Scheduling

Your Salience Health Provider may have recommended that you learn about eVox as part of your new patient intake. A Salience Health Care Navigator will guide you through this educational process, along with any other necessary information. After the education session, you’ll have the option to schedule your eVox Assessment. If you have questions about costs and insurance coverage, our team can assist you. You can pay when scheduling your appointment or on the day of testing.

Step 2@3x

Day of Testing

For the day of the test, we ask that you do not take any stimulants beforehand. All other prescription medication can be taken as regularly scheduled.

On the day of the test, please avoid stimulants, but you can take your regular prescription medication. Ensure clean, dry hair and wear comfy clothing. Minimize caffeine and aim for a good night’s sleep. You can drive normally as the only residue will be water-soluble gel used during setup.

Upon arrival, a technician will guide you to a testing room. You’ll fill out some questionnaires while the technician prepares. A cap with electrodes will be placed on your head, and harmless saline gel will be applied to your scalp to capture your brain’s and heart’s natural signals for observation.

The Assessment and Results

The assessment appointment can take up to 90 minutes. This includes observing and measuring response metrics, heart metrics, event related potentials (ERP’s), and EEG head maps and source localization. Afterward, the technician removes the cap and provides a gel cleaner.

Your results will be ready at your next appointment with your provider. These results are for your provider’s assessment, but you can request a copy. Remember, your provider’s guidance is crucial for interpreting the results and planning your treatment.
