Marquetta "Markie" Clark, LCSW-S

Markie Clark, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor, brings over three decades of comprehensive experience in social work to her role as a Clinical Evaluator and Supervisor at Salience Health. Born in North Carolina and relocating to Texas in 1984 with her husband, Markie's academic journey began at Meredith College (now university) in Raleigh, where she pursued her bachelor's degree before completing her undergraduate studies at NC State University.

Continuing her education, Markie earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia with a concentration in Child and Family, laying a solid foundation for her subsequent professional endeavors. Her career trajectory has been marked by a diverse array of roles and responsibilities, showcasing her expertise across various domains within the field of social work.

Markie's career commenced with pivotal roles in the Department of Social Services, where she served as a dedicated Child and Adult protective service worker. Her commitment to the welfare of vulnerable populations propelled her to higher positions, including the supervision of Children’s Services and chairing the adoptions committee, demonstrating her leadership acumen and advocacy for the wellbeing of children and families.

Upon transitioning to Texas, Markie immersed herself in clinical assessment departments of local psychiatric facilities, where she honed her skills in evaluating and diagnosing patients. Notably, Markie's role at Salience Health primarily focuses on conducting comprehensive evaluations rather than providing therapy to patients. Her expertise in this capacity ensures accurate assessments and informed treatment planning for individuals seeking care.

Markie's extensive professional background also encompasses private practice, where she provided therapy services on a contractual basis, further enriching her clinical expertise. Additionally, she has contributed significantly to academia as a field instructor for the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work master’s program, nurturing the next generation of social work professionals.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Markie finds solace in her personal interests and hobbies. A fervent sports enthusiast, she is an avid supporter and season ticket holder for the Dallas Stars, indulging her passion for hockey. Markie also enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly gardening, and cherishes moments with her two dogs.
